College Recruiting: How Social Media Can Make or Break You

As young club soccer players move through their teens, thoughts inevitably lead to college and hopes of being offered a scholarship to star in one of the nation's top teams.
But beware, recruiters won't just be looking at coach reports, high school transcripts and Football.com player pages - they will be combing through social media accounts, as well.
Inappropriate posts on Instagram, Facebook or any other online account could dash hopes of playing soccer for the college of your dreams. In turn, that could damage prospects of playing in the MLS or other pro leagues.
