Video Of Ray Rice Dragging Unconscious Fiancé Surfaces
TMZ Sports obtained footage from the Revel Casino in Atlantic City that shows Ray Rice dragging the unconscious body of fiancé Janay Palmer out of an elevator. The video takes places before the police came on the scene and arrested them.
Rice and Palmer were both arrested on Feb. 15 and charged for simple assault-domestic violence. The police reportedly have video footage of the altercation, which they say shows both Rice and Palmer attacking one another.
Michael Diamondstein, Rice’s attorney, said, “Neither Ray nor myself will try this case in the media.
“However, the video that's being posted by TMZ Sports is not the complete event, but is merely the end result of what transpired.”
Whatever happened between the two certainly does not appear to be the minor incident that Rice’s attorney initially claimed it to be. Palmer was likely knocked unconscious at some point during the altercation, and her body was limp as Rice attempted to drag it out of the elevator.
A man who looked like he may have been part of the casino security staff approached Rice as he was attempting to clear Palmer’s legs from the elevator doors. Palmer can be seen regaining her consciousness near the end of the video as Rice was walking away.
"We'll assure the public that when this matter is fully tried and completed, you'll have a better understanding of what happened and we ask the public to reserve making any judgment until all of the facts come out,” Diamondstein said.
This video certainly does not paint Rice in a good light, and you can be sure that the Ravens and league will be carefully monitoring the case.
