OK, so maybe "underdog" isn't the right term for this. But which team or teams do you think could be a surprise participant in the first-ever 2014 College Football Playoff?
My big pick probably will be UCLA. They've got an experienced OL (I think they return four of five starters, and they're getting a transfer to fill the LT slot), Brett Hundley as a somewhat surprising returnee and a perennial hard-hitting defense that's a notch below Stanford's.
Mora has brought in some solid recruiting classes and developed the top-end talent very well.
My other picks would be Wisconsin (solid team, easy schedule) and Notre Dame (getting back Everett Golson).
