Tom Brady MRI Negative, Listed Day To Day

Created on Aug. 14, 2013 4:41 PM EST

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has left practice after sustaining a potential knee injury, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

During an 11-on-11 drill, Brady went down and grabbed his left knee after an incomplete pass to Aaron Dobson. He limped off the field, but he returned to the field after one play. However, after consulting with Bill Belichick, Josh McDaniels and head athletic trainer Jim Whalen, Brady has left practice altogether.

While it’s not time to panic just yet, there’s definitely a cause for concern. This is the same knee that sidelined Brady for the entire 2008 season, and an already depleted Patriots offense can in no way afford to lose Brady for any amount of time.

The Patriots will take every precaution in dealing with Brady, and they can only hope that it was something very minor. They can take some solace in the fact that Brady managed to walk off under his own power, but that doesn’t mean he’s out of the woods just yet.

Update: Crisis averted. Brady's MRI came back negative, and he's listed as day to day right now with a mild sprain. After everyone was ready to press the panic button, it ended up turning out to be a minor incident.
