Burnley are back in the Premier League after a long absence and have been given a harsh welcome by Chelsea. The Blues put 3 goals past the newly promoted side as Burnley fans looked on and hoped that this wasn't a sign of what the season might entail.

The match kicked off to a thunderous roar as the Burnley fans were extremely excited to be back in top flight football. Chelsea though were there to spoil the party as Mourinho was sporting three new debuts in the Premier League. Courtois was in goals, Fabregas makes his return to the EPL in the midfield and one of the most talked about strikers of last season Diego Costa was in the front line. Burnley kicked the match off and they couldn't have asked for a better start as they found themselves in the lead after 14 minutes of play. As expected Chelsea had most of the possession and tried to take control but Burnley were playing strong football and managed to get forward and win a corner. Chelsea didn't clear the corner well and Taylor managed to beat the offside trap and square the ball back across the goal to the unmarked Arfield who controlled the ball well and then drilled it into the back of the net. 1-0 and Burnley with the dream start.

Chelsea though din't lay down and the goal was the perfect boost the players needed to take over this game. A huge amount of pressure was placed in Burnley as they were pushed deep into their own half. Ivanovic managed to get into space down the right side and fired in a low driven cross towards the goal. The ball would find the post and rebound back into the centre of the box, where the big signing Diego Costa opened his Premier League account and drilled the ball low into the back of the net. 1-1 and Chelsea's confidence was getting larger as they pressed on.

The match continued on and Burnley did manage to get themselves out of their own half and look to counter against a very attacking Chelsea side, though the quality of Chelsea was about to show as they would only minutes later would fire themselves into the lead. Ivanovic once again would be involved as he was causing Burnley major problems down the right side. He chipped the ball across the top of the box where Fabregas was ready to pounce. The Spaniard though would cleverly play the ball towards the right post rather then shoot and find an unmarked Schurrle running towards the goal, who easily slotted the ball into the back of the net below the keeper. Chelsea weren't done yet as they made it 3-1 before the end of the half as Ivanovic already having a helping hand in the first two goals would get one himself after getting in front of his marker inside the 6 yard box and tap in Chelsea's third of the match.
3-1 for Chelsea at Halftime as Ivanovic was proving to be a major nuisance to Burnley
The second half was a bit more subdued by Chelsea as Burnley defended strongly and limited the Londoners chances at goal. Though after that fantastic first half effort, Chelsea knew they had done enough to take all three points from the match.
The first round is over and Chelsea are on top with Manchester City in 2nd place. Arsenal and Liverpool make up the top four and this could be a sign of what might happen by the end of the season. Though with the teams being so evenly matched anything is possible. United have a lot of ground to make up and you can never write off the 13 time Premier League Champions and we all know that Van Gaal does have the tactical knowledge to lead the struggling Manchester side to greatness. But with teams such as Tottenham and Everton in the way, it looks like it will be a hard ask this season. Liverpool also were lucky to walk away with all three points in their match against Southampton, while City and Chelsea looked the most comfortable in their matches. Interesting to see what the next few rounds will bring in. Anyways keep reading and keep enjoying the World's Best Football League.
