Jones-Drew is a very interesting fantasy football target for the 2013 season. MJD has a history of being one of the most durable running backs in the NFL, but is fresh off a disappointing six game season in 2012. With Lisfranc surgery not far off in his rear view mirror, Jones-Drew heads my “avoid at all costs” list for the 2013 season. With 1,570 career carries and a bum wheel, MJD will have a difficult time living up to his third round average draft position.
The contract motivation for Jones-Drew may spark his training camp preparation for the 2013 season, but will his injured foot respond? With the Jags likely leaning heavily on MJD, with only Justin Forsett and Denard Robinson behind him, I highly doubt he completes a 16 game schedule this season. This is one contract year player that may find an unfriendly market next season if he doesn’t prove he is still healthy and productive.
