Cool Soccer Tricks: Ronaldo Multi-Stepover
So we've all seen Cristiano Ronaldo do his fancy step-overs for Real Madrid and before that with Manchester United.
As a teenager, the Portuguese star would even take a fair amount of flak from fans at Old Trafford who felt he was showing off a little too much. Midfield hardman Roy Keane was also known to have a few choice phrases for the youngster if he overstepped the mark.
Well, nobody is questioning Ronaldo anymore. And every young player would give his or her left shinpad to know how to execute the multi step-over like the master.
Football.com doesn't like to disappoint. Here, courtesy of top SoCal soccer trainer Paul Spacey, is a step-by-step guide to Ronaldo's trademark multi-stepover move.
The Player Behind the Move
Ronaldo may well be the best player in the world; he's certainly the flashiest.
The 30-year-old superstar can pretty much do it all; score with both feet or his head, ghost past defenders like they aren't there, score from free kicks and penalties. But boy can he dribble.
With Man Utd. and Real Madrid, Ronaldo has won three Premier Leagues, one La Liga, one FA Cup, two Football League cups, two Copa del Rey, one Community Shield, one Supercopas de Espana, two UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup and two FIFA Club World Cups.
But perhaps one thing above all other has helped Ronaldo squeeze the very most out of his unique natural talent - he has an dedicated work ethic and determination to improve on the training field. It's not all smoke and mirrors; he works really hard to improve his skills. It has certainly paid off for him.
