Real Madrid have advanced to the Copa del Rey round-of-16, while Sevilla crashed out against Segunda B side Racing Santander.

After a 0-0 draw in the first leg at Olimpic de Xativa, Real Madrid hosted the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu and cantered to a comfortable 2-0 win with both goals in the first half.

Alvaro Morata made a superb run in behind the defence on 16 minutes and slipped a clever ball to Asier Illarramendi, who smashed the ball past Xativa custodian Francis.

Real Madrid doubled their lead 12 minutes later when Kike Alcazar inexplicably handballed in his area and Angel Di Maria stepped up to convert the penalty.

La Liga side Sevilla, who earned a 0-0 draw in the first leg at Racing Santander, were stunned 2-0 at home by the underdogs with a straight red to defender Stephane Mbia in the 62nd minute changing the match.

The foul resulted in a penalty to Santander and was converted by midfielder David Miguelez.

Santander managed to make their advantage count against their 10-man opponents in the 90th minute with Mamadou Kone's strike sealing the contest.

Atletico Madrid had no issues getting past Segunda B side Sant Andreu with a 2-1 win achieved in the second leg with a weakened squad.

Diego Costa, David Villa and Arda Turan were among the players rested after Atletico won the first leg 4-0 at Sant Andreu.

In other matches, Real Betis snuck through 4-3 on aggregate after a 2-2 home draw against Lleida Esportiu, Real Sociedad overcame a 1-1 first-leg draw to win 4-0 in the second leg at home to Algeciras and Almeria advanced 3-1 on aggregate against Las Palmas after their 0-0 draw.
