Corey Grant is a running back for the Auburn Tigers of the Southeastern Conference. He was selected as a 2014 third team pre-season All-SEC running back by the media. Grant was also named one of the top 100 prospects in the nation to watch for the 2015 NFL Draft by NFLDraftScout.com.
Grant attended Opelika High School in Alabama. Rivals.com and Scout.com both listed Grant as a four-star recruit. Rivals ranked Grant as the nation’s fifth best all-purpose back and he also earned a spot on SuperPrep Magazine’s All-American team. He was also a star in track & field as Grant won two Alabama state championships in the 100-meter dash.
Grant split time at running back and wide receiver on the gridiron and finished with 812 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground as a senior and 235 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the air.
Grant originally attended the University of Alabama and redshirted there as a freshman in 2010. He transferred to Auburn after the 2010 season and sat out the 2011 campaign to satisfy NCAA rules. In 2012 he saw limited action but in 2013 he emerged as a force on the ground.
Auburn used three primary ball carriers in 2013 and Grant tallied 647 yards on the ground while averaging 9.8 yards per carry. His first 100-yard game came against the Washington State Cougars as Grant ran for 146 yards and a touchdown. He made his first career start against Arkansas State and exploded for a 90-yard kick-off return for six against the Tennessee Volunteers. He contributed 65 yards on the ground and a touchdown in Auburn’s SEC Championship Game victory over Missouri.
