Cowboys LB Sean Lee Out 3-4 Weeks

The Dallas Cowboys have taken a beating on the defensive side of the ball, and it was no different for the team last night when they played the New Orleans Saints. Even worse is that they’ll be without Sean Lee, who is arguably their best player on defense. Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports reports that Lee is going to miss the next 3-4 weeks with a hamstring injury.
“It’s extremely frustrating for me, being out there and not being out there, letting people down, letting my teammates down and letting the team down,” Lee said. “I have to find a way, I’ve talked about it before, to stay on this football field.”
Lee was injured in the second quarter, and he was quickly ruled out for the rest of the game after limping off the field. The Saints continued their onslaught, defeating the Cowboys 49-17. They had 625 total yards on offense and 40 first downs, while dominating the time of possession 39:32 to the Cowboys’ 20:28.
“Very concerned about him,” said owner Jerry Jones. “We obviously missed him, and we will miss him.”
Justin Durant, who replaced Lee in the lineup, was also injured. Kyle Bosworth and Ernie Sims are expected to help fill the void on the interior moving forward.
“We know we need to start stacking wins together and playing more consistently if we want to be a team that’s playing in the playoffs, a team that’s not just going to be 8-8,” Lee said. “It’s extremely frustrating to come and play like we did tonight. If we want to be a better team, we’re going to have to perform better, and we’re going to have to first start by getting healthy defensively.”
