Brazil's Leandro Damiao is set for an anxious wait to discover the extent of an injury which could sideline him for the Confederations Cup.
The 23-year-old injured his right thigh in training on Thursday and will miss Brazil's friendly against France on Sunday.
Tests are now required to determine if the Internacional forward can participate in the Confederations Cup, which begins with a match against Japan on June 15.
Atletico Mineiro forward Jo has been drafted in as cover for the France friendly.
Damiao will remain with the squad until the extent of his injury has been determined.
The centre-forward, who is reportedly a long-term transfer target of English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, has been capped 16 times for Brazil at senior level.
