Darnell Dockett is a three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle for the Arizona Cardinals. He has spent his entire ten-year career with the Cardinals and earned First-Team All-Pro honors in 2009.
Dockett was born in Burtonsville, MD on May 27, 1981 and excelled as a football player at Paint Branch High School. During his time at the school, he set a school-record with 47 sacks and tallied 171 tackles as a senior. He was named Maryland Player of the Year and was an All-American selection by USA Today and Parade magazine. He received multiple scholarship offers and chose to attend Florida State University over Ohio State and North Carolina.

An injury forced Dockett to redshirt his freshman year as the Seminoles won a National Championship. He became a full-time starter the following season, recording 66 tackles and tying for the team lead with 19 tackles for loss. By his sophomore year, he set a Florida State record with 22 tackles for loss and was a first-team all-conference selection. He broke Ron Simmons long-standing record for career tackles for loss as a junior and finished his career as a Seminole with 65 total tackles for loss.
Off-field incidents dropped Dockett into the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft, and the Arizona Cardinals selected him with the 64th overall pick of the third round. His professional career started off slowly, as he only recorded 6.0 sacks in his first three seasons combined. He had his coming out party in 2007, racking up 9.0 sacks and making his first Pro Bowl team. During the 2008 season, he helped Arizona reach the Super Bowl for the first time and tied an NFL-record with three sacks in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Following a 7.0 sack season in 2009, Dockett was named to his first All-Pro team and made his second Pro Bowl appearance. After signing a four-year, $48 million contract extension on September 1, 2010, he stated that he wanted to finish his career with the team.
