US National team stalwart Julie Johnston is one of the world’s best defenders.
Julie, 24, was captain of the United States under-20 women's national soccer team that won the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and the under-23 team that won the 2013 Four Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain.
The Chicago Red Stars stand-out also played for the senior United States women's national soccer team in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.
She has developed a fierce reputation as a dangerous set-piece target; and has scored all her first seven goals for the national team off set pieces.
Here, she talks to US Youth Soccer about her club soccer days and what it took to become a World Cup Champion.
