North Carolina dominated Old Dominion, beating them by a final score 80-20. When I first saw this score I said to myself, I didn't know Roy Williams' basketball squad was in action today. Well, it was the football team scoring 80 big ones. How bad was this game? It was so bad both coaches agreed to play a 10-minute fourth quarter to get this beatdown over with.
The Tar Heels offense amassed 721 total yards, including 64 points in the second and third quarters combined. Quarterback Marquise Williams tied the school record for most touchdown passes in one game (5) by halftime. Another jaw-dropping stat from this whooping ... the 80 points were the second-most in ACC history.
Can UNC keep this magic going next week versus another team making their own magic in Duke? Time will tell.
