Dortmund interest in Benteke confirmed

Christian Benteke is the subject of transfer interest from Borussia Dortmund, according to the player's representatives.
The 22-year-old Belgium international has starred in his first Premier League season, scoring 19 goals in 34 appearances since moving from Genk for a reported fee of seven million pounds.
Benteke's goals have played a large role in securing Aston Villa's top-flight status for next campaign, but they have also seen him attract the interest of a variety of clubs across Europe.
Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with signing the forward, but they may be usurped by German giants Dortmund, who sent members of staff to watch Benteke in Saturday's 2-1 Premier League loss to Chelsea at Villa Park.
They would have been pleased with what they saw in the early stages, as Benteke scored a terrific early goal, but he was sent off after the break for a second yellow card.
Benteke's agent, Eris Kismet, confirmed that Dortmund had sent scouts to watch Benteke but said that his future, for the moment, remained in Birmingham.
"I am aware of the Dortmund representation at Villa Park for the Chelsea match, but Christian is still a Villa player and nothing has changed on that point," Kismet told ESPN.
"There were a lot of scouts from many teams who have an interest in Christian. Now Aston Villa's future in the Premier League is decided we will know more.
"It is natural for many teams to show an interest when Christian has had such a good season and scored many goals, but it is his first season in the Premier League."
