On Monday, Drake helped kick-off EA Sports' FIFA 14 campaign. The video game makers released a teaser less than a month ago, advertising Microsoft's latest console. Xbox One is the firm's new venture and FIFA 14 will be key to its launch come fall.
In Los Angeles, the rapper entered the stage to the beat of his latest hit, 'Started from the Bottom.' He spoke for just over a minute about the game at the presser and video of Drake's talk was posted by RapDose.com.
"Everyone wants to talk soccer, and everyone is playing FIFA," said Drizzy.
The Grammy--winning artist went onto praise the game's developers.
"When I play the game, I can only think about what the development team behind the game are doing to make the FIFA I love even better," Drake told those at the conference, before pledging to work with the FIFA team in the future.
He then introduced Matt Bilbey, a member of EA's management team, who oversees the creation of the game, which is a worldwide phenomenon. EA's FIFA Twitter account later thanked Drizzy for his participation at the event.
Football.com has covered the rapper's relationship with soccer. His high public profile has allowed him to spread the game throughout the United States and Canada.
Drake has been involved with FIFA in the past. He referenced the game in a guest verse on a track with Nickelus F early this year when he said, "Lay back f***ing with FIFA." In 2011, he and Young Money Cash Money star Lil Wayne took to the cameras to promote FIFA 2012 in a commercial which also featured Wayne Rooney and Kaka.
