The Philadelphia Eagles had a big scare in last night’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs when RB LeSean McCoy went down in the second quarter with what appeared to be a serious ankle injury. He was in visible pain, and while he was able to walk off the field under his own power, there were concerns that he was dealing with a serious injury.
However, shortly after the second half of the game started, McCoy emerged from the locker room and went back into the game. Despite missing nearly a full quarter of action, McCoy managed to rush for 158 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries on the night. 92 of his rushing yards came in the second half of the game, including a 41-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
McCoy said after the game that he’s dealing with a right ankle sprain, but it should be safe to assume that he’ll be fine after his post-injury performance. He has a full 10 days to heal up and prepare for the Eagles’ Week 4 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
