Eagles Skin Washington, Soar To Division Lead

Created on Nov. 17, 2013 8:57 PM EST

The Philadelphia Eagles will head into their bye week with a three-game win streak and sole possession of first place in the NFC East, thanks to a 24-16 win over the Washington Redskins.

The Eagles snapped a 10-game home losing streak dating back to September 2012, and now stand at 6-5 on the season.

Philadelphia led 24-0 after three quarters, but surrendered 16 unanswered points to Washington down the stretch. The Redskins had one last chance to score with a third down at the Eagles 18-yard line with 40 seconds remaining, but Fletcher Cox forced a bad throw by Robert Griffin III that was picked off in the end zone by Brandon Boykin to seal the win for the Birds.
