In the last two years, Kendricks has started 25 games at UCLA and proven himself one of the Pac-12’s steadiest playmaking linebackers, having led the Pac-12 in tackles in 2012 and finishing third in 2013. His 150 tackles in 2012 were the most by a Bruin since 1978. For his efforts, he was named an All-Pac-12 honorable mention selection. Kendrick is well-known as a film room standout and makes plays sideline to sideline for the Bruins.
Kendricks saw action at linebacker, quarterback, running back, kicker and punter at Herbert Hoover High in Fresno. Calif. Ranked anywhere from 40 to 60 as a linebacker prospect, depending on which service you looked at, and finished his career as a two-time first-team all-league selection on defense.
Kendricks didn’t see the field in 2010, but played in all 14 games, including starts in the final three, as a redshirt freshman in 2011. He started all 14 games in 2012 and averaged 10.7 tackles a game in the Pac-12 and returned two fumbles for touchdowns during the season. In 2013, he started the 11 games he was able to play in, earning honorable mention honors on the field and academically.
