UConn: Yawin Smallwood, LB

Smallwood is one of the best inside linebackers in the entire country. He is a good combination of size (6-3, 244) and speed. He is simply a tackling machine who changes every game he plays in.

So far in 2013, Smallwood has registered 12-plus tackles in every game, including a monster 13-tackle, one sack game against Michigan. Smallwood has great instincts and is extremely quick to hit the hole, and he's a surehanded tackler. He also has shown that he can be the playmaker on UConn's defense after playing with four NFL draftees.
