Gonzalo Higuaín



Gonzalo Higuaín was born in Brest, France on 10 December 1987. His father, Jorge Higuaín was born in Argentina and in 2007, Gonzalo was granted Argentine nationality. Known for his finishing, dribbling ability and tendency to set up goals for others, Higuaín is widely considered to be one of the best centre forwards playing today.

Higuaín joined River Plate as a youth team player and made his debut for the senior side in 2005. After scoring two goals against Boca Juniors in the Superclásico in 2006, he was tipped for stardom by his manager and in the 2006-07 season, he made his greatest individual contribution to the side, scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists. As a result, in January 2007, he secured a move to Spanish giants, Real Madrid.
