Don't feel bad if you haven't been able to keep up with the New York Giants' free agent signings over the last few weeks, it's not something that many Giants fans are used to, especially since Jerry Reese became the team's general manager prior to the 2007 season. To put it in perspective, it's a little like preparing for a snow storm in Southern California.

Giants fans are used to calm offseasons with a few free agent signings here and there, plugging up a few holes, and addressing some urgent needs but always managing to fly under the radar. Jerry Reese, for as long as he's been at the helm as Giants general manager, has always preferred to build his team through the draft, leaving the free agency frenzy for teams looking to make a big offseason splash — something the Giants seem to actively avoid. But this offseason has followed a vastly different script, and the team has made several notable signings since the free agency period began a little less than two weeks ago.
