The senior cornerback played the most snaps for the Colorado Buffaloes in 2013 (897) and will be counted on to help solidify the Buff defense heading into 2014. He started all 12 games at right cornerback a year ago and finished third on the team in total tackles with 68 and was second on the team in third down stops with 14. He led the team with four interceptions, the most by a Colorado player since 2004. Henderson is passionate in the weight room and packs a wallop, despite his 5-11, 185-pound size.
When Henderson graduated from Norco High School in Corona, Calif., he was the 10th rated cornerback in California and No. 122 in the country. He earned first-team All-State honors and was an All-CIF Southern Section honoree. For his career, he had more than 100 tackles and broke up 22 passes to go along with nine interceptions. He was also a sprinter on the track team, earning all-league honors in the 100 meters.
As a true freshman in 2011, he appeared in all 13 games, starting 12, all at right cornerback for the Buffs. He was named the team’s most outstanding freshman for his efforts and earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 honors as well. In 2012, he played in 10 games (starting eight) after missing time early in the season with a knee sprain. He recorded 47 tackles and three pass deflections on the season. In 2013, he started all 12 games at right cornerback and posted 46 solo tackles and broke up 10 passes.
