It was no secret that the Baltimore Ravens were in dire need of a linebacker going into the draft. In the offseason, they lost Ray Lewis to retirement and Dannell Ellerbe and Paul Kruger to free agency. When they traded into selection 56, it was a virtual "no-brainer" that they would select Arthur Brown.
Brown was one of the more versatile linebackers in the entire draft. He has the size and aggressiveness to play inside in the Ravens 3-4 defense but also has the speed and coverage skills to play outside. Brown fills not just one but possibly three needs for the Ravens as soon as he steps on the field.
