Valenciennes have confirmed former Copenhagen manager Ariel Jacobs as their new boss on a two-year deal.
The Ligue 1 outfit parted company with former coach Daniel Sanchez, who paid the price for a poor start to the season which sees the side prop up the table with just four points from nine matches.
They have now turned their attention to Belgian Jacobs, who has the option to extend his contract by a further season.
The 60-year-old has had a distinguished career including guiding Anderlecht to the Belgian Pro League on two occasions in 2010 and 2012.
His most recent role was with Danish outfit Copenhagen, leading them to the Superliga title last season.
But he too paid the price for a poor start to this campaign where the side took just two points from their opening five fixtures, leading to Jacobs being replaced by Stale Solbakken.
His first task will be to prepare the team for their Ligue 1 fixture away to Rennes on Saturday.
