Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts Expects To Play Sunday
Just a few days after Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts admitted to not being able to sleep because of pain comes the news that he plans on playing in Week 7 when they play the San Diego Chargers.
Shorts was originally diagnosed with a sprained sternoclavicular joint after exiting on the Jaguars’ first drive against the Denver Broncos, and at the time, there were concerns that he was dealing with a major injury. While a sprained sternoclavicular joint isn’t bad enough to keep him out for the year, it’s a painful injury that could limit him for several weeks.
“It hurts all the time,” he said. “It’s just something I have to deal with. I’m sure once the adrenaline kicks in, I’ll play ball and deal with it.”
Shorts is officially listed as questionable on the Jaguars’ Week 7 injury report, and he’ll likely be a true game-time decision. Even if he does suit up, don’t expect him to be anywhere near full strength. They’ll likely lean on Justin Blackmon to shoulder most of the load with Shorts limited.
