Jason McCourty is a cornerback for the Tennessee Titans. He played college football at Rutgers University and was drafted in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. His twin brother, Devin McCourty, played for the New England Patriots.
McCourty was born on August 13, 1987 in Nyack, New York. As a senior at St. Joseph’s High School in Montvale, New Jersey, McCourty was named All-State and All-League for his efforts. Offensively, he ran the ball for 1,083 yards on a school-record 11.5 yards per carry. He also had 15 catches for 407 yards. He had 25 totals TDs.
According to Scouts.com, McCourty was the 38th-best prospect in New Jersey.
McCourty and his brother both committed to Rutgers and both saw time at cornerback. In his four-year career, Jason McCourty tallied 150 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a TD. Both McCourtys were starters at cornerback for the Scarlet Knights as seniors.
McCourty was drafted in the sixth round (203rd-overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft.
While he did have two interceptions before the 2011 NFL Season, McCourty did not become a full-time starter until 2011. In his first season as a starter, McCourty played in 15 games and recorded a career-high 105 tackles, two interceptions and one sack. He had a career-high four interceptions in 2012.
