Jets Lose Mike Goodson To Torn MCL And ACL
Mike Goodson tweeted Monday that an MRI had shown that he had torn his MCL and ACL during the New York Jets’ Week 6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is officially done for the season.
"MRI Shows that I Tore My MCL and ACL yesterday ..... Not to happy right now But Everything Happens for a reason!"
"Is it ideal? No, it's not an ideal situation," head coach Rex Ryan said. "You're so excited about the type of explosiveness that young man presents. Then he has the MCL/ACL injury and he's going to be out for the year. That's an unfortunate thing for sure."
After getting arrested in May, disappearing during the training camp and then getting hit with a four-game suspension, Goodson finally returned to the lineup in Week 5. He immediately became Bilal Powell's backup, rushing for 61 yards on seven carries over the last two weeks. Losing Goodson gives a slight boost to Powell's fantasy value, while Chris Ivory remains off the fantasy radar.
The injury may put Goodson's 2014 roster spot on jeopardy.
