Bio

Joseph Thomas is an offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl in all seven of his NFL seasons.

Early Life

Thomas was born on December 4, 1984 in Brookfield Wisconsin. He played in a variety of positions at Brookfield Central High School; he was a tight end, defensive end, full back, right tackle, place kicker and punter. Rivals.com ranked Thomas as a four-star recruit within the 2003 recruiting class. He committed to attend the University of Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Badgers

In Thomas’ freshman year at Wisconsin he played tight end in blocking assignments. In the following year he was moved to tackle as a starter. As a junior, Pro Football Weekly named him a First-team All-American. He helped solidify an offensive line that guided RB Brian Calhoun to a 1,500-yard rushing season. By Thomas’ senior season he was an offensive captain and contributed to another running back gaining 1,500 yards rushing. He was awarded the Outland Trophy which recognizes the best interior lineman in the NCAA.

Cleveland Browns

Thomas selected as the third overall pick in the 2007 draft. He’s been a model of consistency in availability and production. In seven NFL season he’s had a Pro Bowl year each season and has started in every game since taking the field in 2007. He has 112 consecutive starts on the Browns’ offensive line.
