Coming from the JC ranks, Stanton found playing time and production in a big way in 2013, recording a team-high 134 tackles, the eighth-best total in Wyoming Cowboys history. Listed as a co-starter coming out of spring drills, Stanton will again look at to be the tackling machine he demonstrated in 2013.

High School/Junior College

As a senior linebacker at Pete Knight High School in Palmdale, Calif., Stanton tallied 139 tackles, forced five fumbles, intercepted three passes and recovered two fumbles. He also rushed for more than 700 yards and 12 touchdowns as a running back. He was named Golden League Defensive Player of the Year and earned first-team all-league honors and was named a National Football Foundation High School Scholar-Athlete.
