Josh Freeman Wants To Be Traded Or Released
By Allen Kim
Per FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer, Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman would like to get traded or released, and he doesn’t want to be a distraction to the team and for both sides to just move on. However, he certainly didn’t lead by example by doing an unauthorized national interview with ESPN’s Josina Anderson, and Freeman was declared inactive after he missed several team meetings this week.
“The situation is pretty standard, you know,” Freeman said. “They can make a change at quarterback, They can make a change at any position.”
Freeman was benched in favor of rookie Mike Glennon, and his name has been swirling around in trade rumors. There has been little interest in his services, even from quarterback desperate teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars.
"Well there has been a lot of talk of this. There was talk of this before there was talk of this, if that makes sense," Freeman said. "But, you know, I don't know how this thing is going to end up, I don't know. ... A lot of people don't understand is, as a player you don't really have much say in a trade.”
One thing is for sure: Freeman won’t be wearing a Buccaneers uniform next year.
