Bio

Jurrell Casey is a defensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans. He played college football for the University of Southern California and was drafted in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

EARLY YEARS

Casey was born on December 5, 1989 in Long Beach, California. As a junior at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, Casey had 104 tackles, 10 sacks, and six fumble recoveries on his way to earning first-team All-CIF Pac-5 Division honors. As a senior defensive tackle, he had 134 tackles and seven sacks. He was named the All-CIF Pac-5 Division Co-Defensive MVP.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

In three years at USC, Casey started 26 of the 38 games he played. He did not start at all high freshman year, but went on to start 13 games as a sophomore and junior. He finished his collegiate career with 138 tackles, nine sacks, 22 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and an interception.

TENNESSEE TITANS

Casey was drafted in the third round (74th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Titans. 

Casey started 31 out of the 32 games he played in over the course of his first two seasons in the NFL. In those two seasons combined, Casey registered 5.5 sacks, three force fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

It was his third season in 2013 that Casey set career highs with 55 tackles and 10.5 sacks.
