Kaleb Johnson is an offensive guard for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights of the Big Ten Conference. Phil Steele named Johnson to his 2014 pre-season All-Big Ten first team. Johnson was considering entering the NFL Draft following the 2013 season but decided to return to Rutgers for his senior season.

High School

Johnson attended Edward H. White High School in Florida. The Florida Times-Union named him a Super 75 selection and ranked him as the number-three guard in the state. and listed Johnson as a three-star recruit. He helped lead his squad to a 9-3 record in 2010 and a spot in the state playoffs. Johnson also starred as a wrestler and won a conference title his senior year.


Johnson shined right away at Rutgers as a true freshman in 2011. The Football Writers Association of America, and Phil Steele all named Johnson a Freshman All-American. He started the final 11 games of the season at right tackle.

Rutgers went 9-4 in 2012 and Johnson started every game at left tackle.  He was a second team All-Big East selection at offensive tackle and was named to’s All Big-East team.

In 2013 Johnson moved to left guard where he started all 13 games for the Scarlet Knights. Phil Steele named Johnson to his All-American Athletic Conference second team at the end of the season.
