United States Men's National Team head coach Jürgen Klinsmann called up 24 players to train in Frankfurt, Germany before they play in their second to last friendly against the Ukraine on March 5.
The roster includes all but three European-based players as this is the last opportunity to join the national side for a match before the World Cup. The only two MLS players on the roster are Toronto FC's Michael Bradley and the Sounders' Clint Dempsey who is currently on loan to Fulham in the Premiere League. Edgar Castillo is the only other non-European player who currently plays for Mexican side Club Tijuana.
As reported earlier this month, 18-year-old phenom Julian Green is included in the roster but will not play as he has yet to chose to play for either Germany or the U.S. In order to play for the Americans, Green will have to file a one-time change of association with FIFA to permanently join US Soccer.
The game was originally scheduled to be played in Kharkiv, Ukraine but due to the unstable situation in the country, US Soccer, the Ukrainian and Cyprus Football Association worked together to move the match to Larnaca, Cyprus.
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET (9 p.m. local time) at Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium.
