Bio

Kyle Fackrell of the Utah State Aggies is no stranger to post-season honors, having been selected a first-team all-WAC honoree in 2012 and a second-team all-Mountain West selection in 2013. Along the way, he earned freshman All-American honors and some All-American mention after last season. He ranks ninth all-time in career interceptions return yards (125), including a 99-yarder against Hawaii in 2013. He enters 2014 on the Bednarik, Nagurski, Butkus and Lombardi awards watch lists, to name just a few. He’s a big guy (6-5, 245) that has the athleticism and toughness to make plays all over the field in 2014.

High School
While a prep at Mesa High School in Mesa, Ariz., Fackrell played quarterback, receiver and linebacker during his senior season. He earned 5A –I all-Region and all Mesa Tribune honors on both offense and defense as Mesa finished the season as the 5A-I runner-ups. He posted 68 tackles, eight pass break-ups, two interceptions and forced one fumble during his senior season. Offensively, he had 36 catches for 662 yards and five touchdowns. He also earned all-region honors in basketball and volleyball.

College

After redshirting his freshman year in 2011, he stepped into the starting lineup in 2012 and started all 13 games. He tallied 87 tackles, third all-time for a Utah State freshman, and had eight tackles for loss. As a red-shirt sophomore in 2013, he came into his own, recording 82 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks and two forced fumbles. Earned Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week honors following the win over Hawaii and received some sophomore All-American honors along the way.
