Bio

Lache J. Seastrunk was born in Temple, Texas on July 29, 1991. A running back for the Washington Redskins, he was selected in the sixth round of he 2014 NFL draft. Prior to entering the National Football League, he had played college football for the Baylor Bears.

During his youth, Seastrunk attended Temple High School in his hometown and racked up a total of 4,127 rushing yards and 52 touchdowns throughout his high school career. In 2009, he was named as a High School All-American by USA Today and he went on to be selected for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in 2010. Considered one of the top running back recruits of his class, he committed to the University of Oregon.

In 2010, Seastrunk served as a member of Oregon's travel squad, but did not see any action and was redshirted. After securing a transfer to Baylor University, he was forced to sit out of the entire 2011 season in order to fulfill the conditions of the transfer. As a result, he lost a year of college football eligibility before receiving any playing time.

Seastrunk made his debut for the Baylor Bears in 2012 and went on to make 13 appearances in total, starting six of them. Over the course of the year, he amassed 1,012 rushing yards and seven touchdowns from 131 carries. His excellent performances in the second half of the season helped he team to a 4-1 record in the final five games and saw him voted as the Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year by both coaches and the Associated Press. Additionally, he was named as an All-Big 12 honorable mention. Although he missed two games of the 2013 season through injury, he appeared 11 times, starting eight games. Seastrunk finished his junior year with 1,177 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns and was a consensus first team All-Big 12 selection.

Having opted to forgo his final season of college football eligibility, Seastrunk officially entered the 2014 NFL Draft, where he was selected in the sixth round, with the 186th overall selection, by the Washington Redskins. He went on to sign a four year contract with the franchise, reportedly worth $2.33 million.
