Lance Moore is a wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In seven seasons playing for the New Orleans Saints, he accumulated 4,281 receiving yards and caught 38 touchdowns.
Moore was born on August 31, 1983 in Westerville, Ohio. He attended Westerville South High School where he set a record of 103 catches and 24 touchdown catches during his senior year.
Moore would attend Toledo and play four years of collegiate football. In his junior year he led the NCAA in receptions. He managed to out-do himself with productive year as a senior when he caught 14 touchdown passes. He ranked fifth in the NCAA in touchdown catches.
New Orleans Saints
Despite filling the stat sheet in his last two years at Toledo, Moore went undrafted in 2005. He was signed and released by the Cleveland Browns during the 2005 offseason. The New Orleans Saints signed him to their practice squad. In 2006, the Saints sent Moore to NFL Europe. He played for the Berlin Thunder and was active on New Orleans’ roster for six games.
In 2007, he was on the active roster for the entire NFL season and saw action as a wide receiver and kick, punt returner. Moore started in four games that season. In his third year, he experienced a breakout catching 79 passes for 928 yards and 10 touchdowns. In 2012, Moore reached his pinnacle with New Orleans as a 1,000-yard receiver starting in seven games. While playing for the Saints, he hasn’t started a full season but was productive as a slot receiver.
In 2014, Moore signed a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being released by the Saints.
