Louisville Recruit Charged With Sex Crime
One of Louisville's top defensive recruits, linebacker Sharieff Rhaheed-Muhammad, has been charged with a felony sex crime after allegedly impregnating his 14-year-old cousin.
Rhaheed-Muhammad was arrested Monday, according to TCPalm.com, and charged with lewd lascivious behavior after a DNA test revealed that the aborted child of the cousin belonged to him.
More from the sad report:
The teen girl’s mother told police she bought a pregnancy test and confronted her daughter in October after seeing her daughter acting strangely. The mother said her daughter began crying, saying she had had sex with Rhaheed-Muhammad.
The girl said she was 11 when Rhaheed-Muhammad began touching her inappropriately. She said when they had sex in June 2013, Rhaheed-Muhammad “did not force himself on her and that it just happened.”
The girl and her mother signed a prosecution waiver.
Rhaheed-Muhammad, 17 years old, was released Tuesday from a juvenile detention center.
As of Wednesday morning, Louisville had not made any sort of announcement on the football future of the 6-foot-2, 200-pound linebacker.
