LSU’s Top Five Players And Plays Of 2013
LSU dominated Auburn in a rainy first half at Tiger Stadium to the tune of a 21-0 lead. Then Auburn began a second-half rally once the rain and their nerves subsided. The score stood at 35-21 in the fourth quarter when the Tigers from the Plains got the ball on their own 16-yard line. They moved the ball to their 44 when Nick Marshall attempted a deep pass into LSU territory. Jalen Mills intercepted the pass and was pushed out of bounds at the LSU 24-yard line.
Had it not been for Mills’ interception, Auburn could have scored another touchdown and made things very interesting in Death Valley that Saturday night. There would have been plenty of time for them to get the ball back and score again before regulation time expired. Instead, Mills’ interception preserved what has been LSU’s most impressive victory to this point in the season.
