Crew Stadium is set to host College Night on Saturday when the two teams open another chapter in their storied rivalry. College students can enjoy $15 student tickets (not available on the day of match) by visiting TheCrew.com/April27 and using the promo code “Student27.” Additionally, students 21 and older can enjoy happy hour pricing from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the stadium, including half-priced beer.
In the previous 55 regular-season meetings between the Crew and United since 1996, the two teams have battled for 4,999 minutes. In that time, 19 players have recorded a regular-season appearance for both the Crew and D.C. United. The legacy goes even further onto the sidelines as both head coaches – Black & Gold boss Robert Warzycha and D.C.’s Ben Olsen – played their entire MLS careers with the clubs they now manage.
Owners of Major League Soccer’s second-longest active home unbeaten streak, the Crew enters Saturday riding an 11-game unbeaten run at Crew Stadium dating back to July 21, 2012. During the stretch, the Crew is 7-0-4 in front of its home fans. The feat is tied for second longest in club history as the Crew has seen identical 11-game stretches in 2001 and 2004-2005.
Saturday’s match at Crew Stadium completes the regular-season series between the Crew and United. Earlier this season, the Crew defeated United 2-1 when the two teams met on March 23 at RFK Stadium. The Black & Gold are 15-7-5 against United at home, including a five-game unbeaten streak (4-0-1) against D.C. at Crew Stadium dating back to October 26, 2008.
