French defender Chris Mavinga has joined Rubin Kazan from Rennes on a four-year deal.
The left-back, who arrived at the Stade de la Route de Lorient from Liverpool in 2011, will link up with former Rennes team-mate Yann M'Vila at the Russian club.
Mavinga made 53 appearances during his time at the club, including 31 last season in all competitions.
A statement on Rennes' website read: "Chris Mavinga now wears the colors of Rubin Kazan.
"An agreement was found between Stade Rennais FC, the Russian club and the player."
Mavinga has represented his country at every level from Under-18 to Under-21 but is yet to make a full international appearance.
