Miami offensive lineman Hunter Knighton was hospitalized after passing out during a workout at the school Monday, the Miami Herald reported.
Hunter, a three-star offensive tackle and early enrollee in the 2013 class, missed the season due to a shoulder injury.
According to the Herald, he was still unconscious in University of Miami hospital as of Tuesday.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Hunter Knighton and his family at this time, though we are encouraged by the prognosis," the UM athletic department said in a statement released Tuesday night. "We look forward to his return to normal activities as soon as his health permits.
"Out of respect for the privacy of those involved, UM will have no further comment at this time."
Knighton is listed at 6-foot-6 and 278 pounds.
This is the second reported major medical event stemming from a college football conditioning workout this offseason. Cal's Ted Agu died earlier in February after collapsing during a training run.
