Mitrovic could be off penalty list - Van den Brom
Anderlecht coach John Van den Brom said he is proud of his players despite going down 3-0 at home to Olympiacos.
The result leaves the Belgian champions at the bottom of Group C, having endured a frustratiing evening that saw Aleksandar Mitrovic miss a first-half penalty.
And the Dutchman said the Serb's poor spot-kick could mean that he is relieved of penalty-taking duties.
"That was a turning point," he told Sport Werald.
"As much as he wants to take them Mitrovic is off the list."
"Elite sport can be tough. We played so well and then after 90 minutes it's 0-3 on the scoreboard. That is tough."
Despite his disappointment, Van den Brom refused to question the effort and overall performance of his side.
"I might be mad at the 0-3 loss, but I am proud of the spirit and the pace with which they played. This was our best game of the season."
The 46-year old also said he was was confident his side would improve if they continued to show the same level of desire, but admitted that the lack of a cutting edge was a worry.
"They have three chances and score three times. Football consists of making mistakes. They punished ours, we did not do that to them. But if we play this way now hold until the end of the season we can only grow," he said.
