Ranking the Mountain West Conference 1-12 through 10 weeks of action (games are Saturday unless otherwise noted):

1. Fresno State (8-0, 5-0 MWC)

Last Week: Beat visiting Nevada, 41-23

This Week: at Wyoming, 8:15 p.m. MT

Quick Take: Derek Carr’s 487 passing yards against the Wolf Pack represented the senior’s eighth career 400-yard game – tops among active FBS QBs.

2. Boise State (6-3, 4-1)

Last Week: Won at Colorado State, 42-30

This Week: Bye

Quick Take: Broncos settling in quite nicely under backup QB Grant Hedrick, who accounted for all six of the team’s TDs (5 passing, 1 rushing) in the win over CSU.

3. Utah State (5-4, 4-1)

Last Week: Beat visiting Hawaii, 47-10

This Week: at UNLV, 5 p.m. PT

Quick Take: Aggies head to desert having won 15 of their last 16 conference games, the only loss coming Oct. 12 vs. Boise State.

4. San Jose State (5-3, 4-1)

Last Week: Won at UNLV, 34-24

This Week: vs. San Diego State, 7:30 p.m. PT

Quick Take: Spartans have won three straight against their Southern in-state foes, including a 38-34 triumph in San Diego a season ago.

5. San Diego State (4-4, 3-1)

Last Week: Beat visiting New Mexico, 35-30

This Week: at San Jose State, 7:30 p.m. PT

Quick Take: Junior tailback Adam Muema ran for 233 yards and three TDs against New Mexico after entering the game with 449 yards and five scores in the Aztecs’ first seven contests.

6. Colorado State (4-5, 2-2)

Last Week: Lost to visiting Boise State, 42-30

This Week: vs. Nevada, 1:30 p.m. MT

Quick Take: Yeah, CSU came up short in the Mountain Division showdown against Boise, but you hardly can blame QB Garrett Grayson, whose 445 yards of total offense (397 passing, 48 rushing) broke Bradlee VanPelt’s 10-year-old school single-game record of 415.

7. UNLV (5-4, 3-2)

Last Week: Lost to visiting San Jose State, 34-24

This Week: vs. Utah State, 5 p.m. PT

Quick Take: Rebels rarin’ for another shot at becoming bowl-eligible for the first time since 2000.

8. Wyoming (4-4, 2-2)

This Week: vs. Fresno State, 8:15 p.m. MT

Quick Take: War Memorial Stadium scoreboard operator best have backup bulbs on hand as Pokes and ’Dogs averaging a combined 80 points and 1,056 yards per game.

Quick Take: Wolf Pack’s six losses have been to teams owning a combined record of 37-13, including still-undefeated Florida State and Fresno State.

Quick Take: Definition of bad matchup: Lobos’ 120th-ranked FBS rushing defense (252.9 yards allowed per game) vs. Falcons’ second-ranked rushing offense (279.2 ypg).

Quick Take: Tailback Anthony LaCoste’s 263 rushing yards against Army only were 12 off the Falcons’ single-game record of 275, set by Chad Hall in 2007.

This Week: at Navy, 3:30 p.m. ET

Quick Take: Rainbow Warriors, who have suffered 11 straight road losses, will only be 4,850 miles from home this Saturday in Annapolis.
