New England Patriots: Giving Back To Boston
Anyone who grows up in a sports obsessed household will look at athletes in a completely different light than the rest of society. Whether they like it or not, athletes are viewed as role models and their every move can have a huge impact on the way society perceives them. The New England Patriots players make a continuous effort to donate their time to Boston charities and organizations throughout the year.
Duron Harmon and Josh Kline spent their Tuesday, Sept. 24, celebrating education volunteerism with children at the South End House. They read stories, handed out books and posed for photographs with the children.
Alfonzo Dennard dropped in on the young patients at the Children’s Hospital on August 31. The children’s faces beamed with joy.
In conjunction with the Make-A-Wish® Program, Tom Brady met with four children Nov. 17, 2012, who had yearned to meet the New England Patriot’s quarterback. As a surprise, all of the Patriots players, as well as Coach Belichick came out onto the field; they took pictures, signed autographs and spent quality time with the children.
If you consider the amount of time that the players donate to volunteerism, the money that is donated to numerous charities, plus all of the fundraisers and events that are held throughout the year… It is extremely evident that the New England Patriots make it a priority to give back to the city that supports them.
