Oregon's Thomas Will Play
Oregon running back De'Anthony Thomas (sprained ankle) will play Saturday against Washington, according to The Oregonian.
An anonymous source said Thomas will play, but he wasn't able to do much this week in practice and missed last week's game against Colorado as well as the entire game after the opening kickoff against Cal on Sept. 28.
"(Thomas will) give it a try. It's an ankle so you don't really know 'til you know," the source said.
It seems absurd to think Washington (4-1, 1-1) did not prepare for Thomas to play. The Huskies almost are forced to give Thomas attention when he's on the field and assume he's 100 percent. Thomas has scored six rushing touchdowns this season on just 42 carries and is a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield.
Whether or not he's healthy and able to cut like normal, the mere presence of Thomas should open the field for all of Oregon's other weapons.
For what it's worth, Oregon (5-0, 2-0), a 14-point favorite most of the week, dropped to 13.5 at the Las Vegas Hilton as of Saturday morning.
