Packers LT Bryan Bulaga Has Torn ACL
Bryan Bulaga, left tackle for the Green Bay Packers, is the latest victim to potentially go down with a torn ACL, according to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel. The injury occurred during a Saturday night scrimmage at Lambeau Field.
Bulaga was moved to Aaron Rodgers’ blindside after playing on the opposite end for three seasons, but that experiment will have to wait another year. While the Packers haven’t confirmed the full extent of the damage, they fear that he suffered a torn ligament in his knee.
The injury bug has been making the rounds as of late, and there have been an alarming number of torn ACLs wreaking havoc with the regular season only weeks away from starting. The timing couldn't be worse for Green Bay.
Marshall Newhouse, who swapped spots with Bulaga, is likely the top candidate to replace him. While he has the most experience, he’s not exactly the most reliable player. The Packers have every right to be seriously concerned about their offensive line heading into the 2013 season, and Rodgers can’t be too happy about his protection after he got battered last season.
