Patrick Towles is a quarterback for the University of Kentucky Wildcats of the Southeastern Conference.
Towles attended Highlands High School in Kentucky. His QB coach was former UK quarterback Jared Lorenzen. Towles was named the top prospect in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2011 and one of the top 10 pro-style QB’s in the nation by Rivals. He threw for more than 7,000 yards during his high school career and led Highlands to three consecutive state titles. His career record as a starter was 38-1. He earned a spot on the Parade All-American team and was the Gatorade Player of the Year as well as Mr. Football in Kentucky. He is the grandson of former Major League Baseball star and current US Senator Jim Bunning. Towles was a three-sport star in high school as he was named All-Region in basketball and also competed in the high jump.
Towles participated in five games as a true freshman at UK in 2012. He completed 19 of 40 passes and threw for 233 yards and a touchdown. His first career appearance came against SEC foe Mississippi State and he completed five of five passes on his first drive for 71 yards, ending the drive with a 32-yard touchdown pass. The Wildcats opted to redshirt Towles in 2013 as he was originally supposed to redshirt in 2012 but was pressed into action due to injuries at the QB position.
