Jesse “Patton” Robinette is a quarterback for the Vanderbilt University Commodores of the Southeastern Conference.
Robinette attended Maryville High School in Tennessee. He was a two-year starter who led his team to the 5A state championship in 2011. Robinette threw for 1,522 yards and tossed 22 touchdown passes while rushing for 886 yards and 16 TD’s on the ground. He earned Gatorade State Player of the Year honors for his efforts and was a finalist for the 5A Mr. Football award.
Robinette redshirted in 2012 but saw significant action in 2013 as he appeared in 10 games and started in the BBVA Compass Bowl. He also started against Texas A&M and Florida. Robinette entered the game off the bench against Georgia and led the Commodores to 17 fourth quarter points and a victory over the Bulldogs. After throwing for 216 yards against the Aggies, he led the Commodores to their first victory over the Gators at the Swamp since the 1940’s.
Overall, Robinette threw for 642 yards in 2013 and tossed four touchdown passes. He ran for seven touchdowns and tallied 214 yards on the ground. Robinette threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in their bowl victory over Houston. He tallied a rushing touchdown in five of his last six appearances in 2013. Robinette was named to the 2013 SEC Academic Honor Roll.
