Bio

Paul Kruger is a linebacker for the Cleveland Browns. He played four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and is a former Super Bowl Champion.

Early Life

Kruger was born in Rexburg Idaho on February 15, 1986. He attended Timpanogos High School in Utah. As a senior in 2003, Student Sports ranked him as one of the Top 30 quarterbacks nationally. Before making an impact on the University of Utah’s football field, he made an impact on the world when he served a two-year mission for The Missouri Independence Mission.

Utah Utes

Kruger played on two undefeated teams before heading to the NFL. Though he was brought in as a quarterback, he played much of his collegiate career on the defensive line. As a versatile player he also played on the offensive line during Utah’s Sugar Bowl win against Alabama in 2008. Kruger accumulated 124 total tackles, 10.5 sacks and two interceptions in his collegiate career.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens selected Kruger in the second round of the 2009 draft. He was used as a backup defensive end for the first three years of his career. In his fourth season, he made a significant impact out of blitz packages, recording nine sacks in the 2012 season. He had two critical sacks in Super Bowl XLVII and became a champion in Baltimore.

Cleveland Browns

After winning a Super Bowl with the Ravens, Kruger signed a five-year deal with the Cleveland Browns in 2013. In his first season with the Browns he became a starting linebacker and recorded 4.5 sacks.
